What We Believe
We believe there is only one true God who has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As Jesus says in Matthew 28:19, Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Bible is God’s written word and is the only source of knowledge about God and His forgiveness. The Bible reveals God’s guidance for our lives and shares the greatest story ever–His incredible love for you and me. It was written by men as they were directed and guided by the Holy Spirit and so is true and without error. The Bible says this about its purpose in 2 Timothy 3:15-17, How from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and daily fall short of God’s commands and have separated themselves from the love of God. We also believe that though we deserve death, God desires to give us life in Jesus Christ. As the Bible says in Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God who paid the price for our sins so that we may live under His leadership forever. By defeating death and rising from the dead, Jesus showed all the world that His sacrifice on the cross has been accepted by God the Father, paying the price for our sin. As the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:57, Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that God the Holy Spirit brings us to a relationship with God and gives each Christian spiritual gifts to be used for the common good. God saves by His gift of grace, and God saves us for a purpose that He has for our lives. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8-10, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Participation in the Lord’s Supper
We believe that saving faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for the proper reception of the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:27). We believe that in the Lord’s Supper we receive not only the bread and the wine, but also the true body and blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Because of Jesus’ words, This is my body…This is my blood…we believe that Jesus is really, truly present in, with and under the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Jesus gave this meal for the comfort and strengthening of baptized Christians who repent of their sins, believe in Him and intend to grow with the guidance of the Holy Spirit in a more committed life with Christ and His Church.
Our Church Association
Christ Lutheran Church Ministries is affiliated with a national church body called The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We walk hand-in-hand with this church body, holding to the same doctrines and beliefs.
