MUSIC MINISTRY

When we celebrate God together in worship, we use His gift of music to praise and honor Him and edify all who come to worship His name.  Weekly rehearsals are held for the following ensembles:

Sanctuary Choir

Sanctuary Choir members meet weekly for rehearsals on Thursday evenings and provide choral worship music in 4 to 8 part harmony at the 8 a.m. worship service and festival services for Christmas, Lent, and Easter.

Praise Band

Praise Band members meet on Sunday mornings for rehearsals and provide keyboard, guitar, drum, vocals, and other percussion music at the 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship service in the gymnasium.  They also provide music for Lessons and Carols in December.

Sabbath Sound Handbells

Sabbath Sound Handbell ringers meet weekly for rehearsals on Tuesday evenings and provide handbell music one Sunday per month at the 8 a.m. worship service and festival services for Christmas, Lent, and Easter.

Solo instruments such as violin, flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, organ, and voice are needed for certain occasions; they do not meet weekly, but rehearse on an “as needed” basis.

To audition for any of these ensembles or solo opportunities, please contact Roger Howard, Minister of Worship and Music,
at 619-462-5211 ext. 113 or rhoward@christlamesa.org.
