A Simple Christmas
“A Christmas List That Matters”
(1 of 5)
Today begins a new year in the church calendar as we celebrate the first Sunday in Advent. “Advent” means “coming,” and we study the scriptures that promise and describe the first coming of Jesus as a baby at Christmas. These scriptures help us to prepare our heart for celebrating the birth of our Savior.
To help us prepare, we begin a new message series called “A Simple Christmas: Focusing on What Matters Most.” Today’s message focuses on making a difference. 1 Thessalonians guides us how to do that by following Paul’s example. We can list the people whom we appreciate the most, make a list of intangible gifts to give them, and pray for them regularly. “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” (1 Thessalonians 3:12)
