Pastor Richard Burkey has served Christ Lutheran Church Ministries since February of 1997. Previously, he served at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Camden, Arkansas and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bartow, Florida. Pastor Burkey also serves as Secretary on the Pacific Southwest District Board of Directors and is a former ambassador for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! He holds an Associate of Arts from, Concordia University – Austin, TX, a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Concordia University - Chicago, IL, a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary – St. Louis, MO, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary - Pasadena, CA.
Pastor Travis Ferguson has served Christ Lutheran Church Ministries since January of 2019. Previously he served as Associate Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, TN. Pastor Travis has served as a police and fire chaplain for various agencies in Missouri and Tennessee, and has also been a Chaplain in the United States Air Force since 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Behavioral Science from Concordia University-Seward, NE and a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary- St. Louis, MO.
Ms. Xavria Schwarz has served as the principal at Christ Lutheran School since 2000. Before becoming a principal, Ms. Schwarz taught 4thgrade at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Kennewick, WA. Ms. Schwarz was named the Pacific Southwest District’s Administrator of the Year in 2009 and Concordia University’s Outstanding Alumna of the Year in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and Child Development and a Teaching Credential from Concordia University – Irvine, CA and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Heritage University – Toppenish, WA.
Robyn Richison has served at Christ Lutheran Church Ministries since September of 2016. Robyn’s family have been members of Christ Lutheran Church for more than 45 years. Robyn is also a graduate of Christ Lutheran School. Robyn has almost 20 years of accounting and finance experience in non-profit, government, and private sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from San Diego State University- San Diego, CA.
Cheri Selander has served as a Director of Christian Education at Christ Lutheran Church since May of 1989 as Coordinator of Youth Ministry. Previously, she served at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks, CA. Cheri also serves the Pacific Southwest District and Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod in Youth Ministry, and also in supporting and advocating for the ministry of Directors of Christian Education in our church body. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Director of Christian Education Certification from Concordia University- Seward, Nebraska.
Brandon Heath began serving at Christ Lutheran in 1999 as a Director of Christ Education (DCE) intern. He has served as a DCE, with the title of Minister of Youth, since July 2000. Brandon has also worked with Young Adults in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod as part of "Orange Nation" and serves the Pacific Southwest District in a variety of ways. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Director of Christian Education Certification from Concordia University-Seward, Nebraska.
Roger Howard has served as Minister of Music and Worship at CLCM since July of 2006. He has served previous congregations in Ohio, California, and Missouri as music and/or youth minister for the past 34 years. Roger is married to Jeanmarie. They have two sons, Ryan and Michael, both of whom are pursuing full-time ministry vocations in the Lutheran Church. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Parish Music and Director of Christian Education Ministry from Concordia College - Portland, OR and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Bowling Green State University - Bowling Green, OH.
Kathy Barkett has served Christ Lutheran Church Ministries part-time as Praise Band Worship Leader since 1999, and is now full-time, having added the responsibility of Christ Lutheran School Music Teacher. Kathy grew up in a musical family, enjoyed band in middle school, choir in high school, taught private lessons, worked as Musical Director at Valhalla High School, accompanied CYT and CCT, and plays several instruments. She has a passion for kids, especially with regards to raising up young worship leaders. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego.
