Session 1: God the Father

This session explores the nature and role of God the Father. It covers key attributes of God, His role as Creator and Sustainer of the world, and His relationship with humanity. Additionally, the 10 Commandments are explored as the Father’s “best plan” for the lives of His Creation.

Session 2: Jesus and the Holy Spirit

This session focuses on Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, highlighting their roles in the Godhead. It explores Jesus as the Son of God, His life, death, and resurrection, and what His work means for believers. The session also examines the Holy Spirit’s presence, guidance, and transformative power in the lives of Christians. Additionally, the session explores the mystery of the Trinity.

Session 3: The Church

This session explores the nature and purpose of the Church as the body of Christ. It examines the Church’s foundation, mission, and role in the lives of believers. Key topics include worship, community, service, and the Church’s calling to share the Gospel. Participants will find that ecclesiology (the study of the church) is always necessarily paired with Christology (the study of Jesus) because Jesus identifies Himself with the Church.

Session 4: The Lutheran Perspective

This session introduces key teachings of the Lutheran tradition, emphasizing how Lutherans understand the Christian faith. Central themes include justification by grace through faith, the authority of Scripture alone, and the role of the sacrament as means by which God delivers His grace. The session highlights the distinctive Lutheran view of how God works through Word and Sacrament to create and sustain faith, offering assurance of forgiveness and salvation.
